Headquartered in Houma, Louisiana, Baywater Drilling is the largest privately-owned inland barge drilling contractor in the United States. Our mission is to provide our operators with the safest, most efficient, and environmentally responsible drilling contracting services in the inland barge and land markets. Founded in 2013, we have operations along the Gulf Coast and the San Juan Basin.
We provide drilling, workover, and completion services with more than 300 rig based employees. In 2015, we moved into the land market with the addition of two custom, new build land rigs. In 2017, we added additional land services with the acquisition of truck-mounted workover units and established a presence in the San Juan Basin in New Mexico. As we continue to assess the needs of our customers, we are exploring strategic opportunities both domestically and internationally.
